At Baselworld 2008, Zenith has unveiled a new Mega Port Royal Tourbillon. The watch reveals a tourbillon through a dial aperture, while the dial itself is covered with a grill, as though the creators of the timepiece wanted to put up an obstacle to admiring the complication.
The idea might have been suggested by the early wristwatches developed for soldiers in the first World War, with the grill protecting the glass crystal, or some of the earlier Cartier Pasha watches.
