The design of the Defy Stealth has been suggested by the Stealth Bombers, aircrafts fitted with the stealth technology, so they are not detected by radars or any other means based on a combination of features reducing their visibility in the visual, audio, infrared and radio frequency spectrum. The initial stealth aircrafts were developed by the Germans at the end of World War II.
The new El Primero 4039 SX Automatic Chronograph movement with Grande Date and 50-hour power reserve comprises 331 components and oscillates at 36, 000 vibrations per hour. The balance, chronograph and pallet bridges are crafted in shock-absorbing Zenithium. The movement incorporates Incabloc anti-shock device. It allows automatic winding in both directions.
The Zenith Defy Xtrem Grande Date Stealth provides the following functions: - The watch features hour and minute hands traditionally put in the center.
- You will find the small seconds-hand at 9 o'clock.
- The chronograph function is presented through the central seconds-hand and 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock.
- The patented 3-Disc Grande Date is unveiled over 2 o'clock.
- You will notice the power reserve indicator on the axis of the hour hand.
The titanium case of the Defy Stealth radiates with extreme masculinity. Measuring 46.5 mm in diameter, it incorporates titanium screw-in push-buttons with carbon fiber guilloche patterns, as well as a titanium screw-in crown provided with a specific protecting device.
The graduated unidirectional rotating bezel and indexes are also crafted in titanium. The helium valve is found at 10 o'clock. The case construction is completed with a titanium screw-in case back and boasts 1000-meter water-resistance.
The dial of the Zenith Defy Xtrem Grande Date Stealth stirs imagination by its multi-layered transparent structure formed by a black or grey carbon fiber layer and a varnished dial plate. The zest of the dial is a 9-branched open 'helical' bridge crafted in red-tinted Aluminum. The dial is protected by sapphire crystal provided with anti-reflective coating on both sides.
The Zenith watch is secured to the wrist on a brushed titanium bracelet featuring lateral inserts in composite materials (for the white version) or Kevlar (for the black version). The bracelet is fitted with a brushed titanium triple folded clasp.
