The watch is equipped with the brand’s legendary El Primero chronograph mechanism and, for the first time, incorporates a 12-hour alarm complication.
The case of the Zenith Class Traveller Open Multicity Alarm watch measures 46mm in diameter and is crafted in stainless steel or 18K rose gold. The face of the watch is protected by a slightly curved sapphire crystal provided with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The case construction is 50-meter water-resistant.
The black or silver dial of the new Zenith watch is adorned with a fine grain d'orge guilloche pattern. The dial aperture at 10 o’clock allows to see the rapidly pulsating balance wheel.
The perimeter of the dial shows the world time and 24-hour discs. As for the alarm power reserve indicator and on/off selectors, they are presented between 6 and 9 o'clock. The highly-appealing Zenith grande date display is found 2 o'clock. The 24-hour time in the second time-zone is indicated by an additional skeleton hand in the center of the dial.
The Class Traveller Open Multicity Alarm watch, reviewed by watches.infoniac.com, accommodates a Zenith in-house complex mechanical automatic movement - the 4046 Open El Primero caliber. The movement is built from 439 individual components. The famous El Primero column wheel chronograph, beating at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, allows to measure independent time intervals to 1/10th second.
Two spring barrels, one for the timepiece
and the other for the alarm, provides the mechanism with enough energy. Moreover, the movement gives an advantage of a 50-hour power-reserve.
The case back in transparent sapphire glass reveals the intricate movement with its guilloched central winding rotor in 22K gold.
The Zenith Class Traveller Open Multicity Alarm watch is coupled with a stitched alligator leather strap. The strap is equipped with a triple folding buckle in 18K rose gold or stainless steel, featuring an engraving of the Zenith star.
