Meet Yema Watches - Flygraf, Submarine and Superman

Feb 03, 2011
The French horological company Yema has released a series of new watches, which will officially debut within the framework of the Baselworld watch and jewellery fair 2011.

The first item in the range is represented by the new Flygraf watch. It is set in a 316L steel case. The measurements of the case are 47 mm x 11.40 mm: diameter and thickness indicated respectively.

It features a top mineral crystal. The new Yema watch also demonstrates a screwed back with a round gasket.

At 3 o’clock the case reveals a winding crown, fitted with a tube and double gaskets. The model is capable of withstanding water pressures down to 100 meters.

Embraced by the case is a black dial. It is completed with four oversized contrasting Arabic numerals, alternating with the indexes of the same color. They are tipped with a coat of Superluminova to ensure a perfect level of visibility.

The dial of the new Flygraf watch is swept over by broad, partially skeletonized hands, which serve to indicate hours and minutes. Supported by a slim seconds hand, they are also highlighted with Superluminova. Additionally, the display offers a date indication, which appears in the aperture at 3 o’clock.

Breathing life into these functions is a Miyota 2115-3H quartz movement. Keeping this model secured to the wearer’s wrist is a 304L steel bracelet. It terminates in a butterfly buckle with double security push-pieces. Alternatively, the watch can be mounted on a crocodile-style black leather strap.

The new Submarine watch has adopted a 316L stainless case. It is 11.20 mm thick and has a diameter of 44 mm. The face of the model is protected by a mineral crystal, equipped with a triangular magnifier.

The brand’s craftsmen have also fitted the model with a screwed back with a round gasket. The screwed time setting crown, equipped with double gaskets, is traditionally located at 3 o’clock. The water-resistance of the case is assured down to 300 meters.

The black display of the new Submarine watch comprises extra-large Arabic numerals, dressed in white. It also features intermediate indexes, performed in the same color. All the hour-markers are treated with a luminous compound.

Circulating over them are hour and minutes lume-applied hands. The seconds are indicated by a red central hand, a true eye-catcher of the display. The calendar aperture is located between 4 and 5 o’clock. All the functions are brought to life by a 2453-00A quartz movement. The timepiece is teamed with a matching black rubber strap.

Completing the series is a new Superman watch. It is delivered in a 316L steel case, which measures 42 mm in diameter. Its thickness, meanwhile, is equal to 11.5 mm.

The top of the case is shielded by a mineral crystal. Its screwed back side is fitted with a round gasket and marked with a Collector Re-edition engraving.

At 3 o’clock, the case exposes a winding crown, endowed with a tube and double gaskets. The construction of the model in question is 100-meter water-resistant. Inside the case is beating a Miyota 2115 quartz movement.

The new timepiece shows off a silver grey dial. It includes charismatic indices, coated with Superluminova treatment.

The hours and minutes are shown by centralized hands, also Superluminova-inlaid. Indicating the seconds is a slender central hand. The date is displayed in the aperture at 3 o’clock.

The new Yema watch is accessorized with a 316L steel bracelet. It is finalized by a butterfly buckle with double security push-pieces.
