This autumn, Baume & Mercier will proudly unveil a new timepiece - the William Baume Jumping Hour watch, released in commemoration of the company’s 180th anniversary. Created in harmony with the best horological traditions, this exceptional timepiece is also a respectful nod to William Baume, a talented watchmaker and a grandson of the brand’s founder.
The Baume & Mercier watch employs a round-shaped 41 mm case, rendered in red gold. It is 9.6 mm high. Both front and back sides of the timepiece are shielded by top-quality sapphire crystals.
The case carries a bezel, also crafted from red gold. It forms an elegant frame around an appealing dial, performed either in silver or black.
Designed in retro-contemporary style, both versions feature a cross weave guilloche motif as well as a sunburst satin-brushed finish on minute and second sub-dials.
The counters mentioned are outfitted with Arabic numerals and red gold hands.
The hallmark feature of the new Baume & Mercier watch is the Jumping Hour complication, which displays hours in an exhibition window at 12 o’clock.

Animating these functions is a self-winding Dubois Depraz 14400 movement. The see-through case back of the Baume & Mercier watch offers a great view of the mainplate and bridges, graced with circular-grained and snailed finishing. It also shows off an open-worked oscillating weight, embellished with Cotes de Geneve motif.
The new William Baume Jumping Hour watch is completed by a brown leather strap. The timekeeper will be proposed in an edition strictly limited to 40 pieces for each dial interpretation.
