Vulcain is delighted to announce its
new 50s Presidents' watch, which eloquently narrates the story of the
Cricket alarm movement.
A period of renewal and hope, the 1950s gave birth to many ideas, successfully turned into reality afterwards. While the American president Harry Truman was presenting his “doctrine”, aimed at protecting free peoples from the advance of communism, the Vulcain’s esteemed masters were trying to figure out how to make a striking mechanism, functionally loud and at the same time miniature enough to be incorporated within a wristwatch. A proper solution was a Cricket alarm caliber, introduced by the brand in 1947.
The innovative movement was integrated within a number of Vulcain extraordinary watches, which became instant favorites among the world’s most powerful men. They also appealed to successive American presidents and therefore acquired a name of
“The Presidents’ Watches”.

The
Vulcain Anniversary Heart collection was highly appreciated by watch enthusiasts. The line included a remarkable model, which was gifted to the
U.S. president Barack Obama. Thus, the brand remained true to the 50-year old tradition, due to which the model, powered by the robust Vulcain Cricket movement, has attained a status of the
President’s watch.
Now, the Anniversary Heart collection has got a worthy successor in the
new Anniversary Heart Automatic watch. Produced in constant pursuit of originality and excellence, it is available in two versions -
reference 280538.235L and reference 280138.238LF.
The first interpretation of the new Vulcain watch is embodied in an
18K pink gold case. It boasts the dimensions of
42 mm x 50.40 mm x 15.60 mm: diameter, length and height indicated correspondingly.

In the course of the
Vulcain Trophy Grand Prix d’Antibes 2011 event,
Michel Desjoyeaux on Foncia gained the final victory ahead of
Alinghi (Ernesto Bertarelli) and
Veltigroup (Steve Ravussin).
To mark this special occasion, the Swiss watchmaker
Vulcain, as the title sponsor of the trophy, has launched its
new Nautical Trophy Limited Edition watch, restricted to
100 pieces. Three of them were offered to the skippers mentioned.
The distinctive style of the new Vulcain watch demonstrates the brand’s association with the maritime world. The model is set in a
316L steel case. Its measurements are
42mm x 51mm x 17.50mm: diameter, length and height indicated respectively.

For the Charity Auction Only Watch 2011, the horologial company
Vulcain has created its
new unique Anniversary Heart watch.
Visually inviting, the new Vulcain watch is interpreted in a
42mm case, crafted from
18K 5N rose gold. Its top is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal. The sapphire glass is also used for the case-back, which sports the stylized “V” for Vulcain. The model boasts
50- meter water-resistance.
Housed in the case is a silver-toned open-worked dial with blue hour-markers and Arabic numerals as well as blue skeletonized hour and minute hands. The display also offers central seconds. The fourth hand, meanwhile, is intended for the alarm device.
The
new Vulcain Anniversary Heart watch accommodates the
brand’s proprietary mechanical hand-wound movement with a 20-second alarm function. It is composed of 157 individual parts and operates at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour.
