Admire Vulcain Nautical Trophy Limited Edition Watch

Oct 11, 2011
In the course of the Vulcain Trophy Grand Prix d’Antibes 2011 event, Michel Desjoyeaux on Foncia gained the final victory ahead of Alinghi (Ernesto Bertarelli) and Veltigroup (Steve Ravussin).

To mark this special occasion, the Swiss watchmaker Vulcain, as the title sponsor of the trophy, has launched its new Nautical Trophy Limited Edition watch, restricted to 100 pieces. Three of them were offered to the skippers mentioned.

The distinctive style of the new Vulcain watch demonstrates the brand’s association with the maritime world. The model is set in a 316L steel case. Its measurements are 42mm x 51mm x 17.50mm: diameter, length and height indicated respectively.

The timepiece is equipped with a triple case-back, which serves as a resonance chamber and provides 300-meter water-resistance. Its front side is armed with a Plexi crystal.

Beneath this glass the user can see a black dial - a re-edition of the original 1961 version. It displays hours, minutes and seconds. The basic features are complimented by the functions of alarm and decompression tables, operated by a screw-lock crown at 4 o’clock.

The new Vulcain Nautical Trophy Limited Edition watch accommodates a hand-wound mechanical alarm movement - Caliber Vulcain Cricket Manufacture V-10. It comprises 157 individual parts, including 17 rubies. The caliber is equipped with the Exactomatic system. It runs at the rate of 18,000 vibrations per hour and allows for a 42-hour power reserve.

The new Vulcain watch is mounted on a water-protected calf leather strap. It terminates in a steel pin buckle or a steel folding buckle with security pushers.
