The horological company Blancpain is proud to unveil its new Villeret Demi-Fuseau Horaire GMT automatic watch, to be officially presented at Baselworld 2011. This extraordinary novelty is constructed around a self-winding calibre BP 5254DF movement, entirely produced in the manufacture’s workshops. Composed of 321 individual parts, it incorporates a rose gold winding rotor and offers a respectable power reserve of 72 hours.
The intricate workings of the mechanism can be admired through a transparent sapphire crystal display. The latter is fitted with an engine-turned hunter case-back cover, also crafted from rose gold.
The caliber described houses an impressive array of functions, revealed on a guilloched opaline dial. Exquisitely balanced, the display of the new Blancpain watch exposes Roman numerals on its extremity.
Gliding gracefully over them are centralized gold hands, which serve to indicate a second time-zone. They are supported by a slender seconds hand.
The watch also presents a reference time-zone, featured at 12 o’clock. The date/night indication for the reference time appears in the counter at 9 o’clock. The date information is offered in the aperture at 6 o’clock.
Additionally, the dial of the new Villeret Demi-Fuseau Horaire GMT automatic watch proposes a Date Change (D) or Time-Zone (F) indication, skillfully arranged at 4 o’clock. The refined design of the watch face is completed by the brand’s logo, showcased at 3 o’clock.
The new Blancpain watch comes fitted with a brown leather strap. A perfect illustration of the brand’s thirst for innovation, this model will appeal to those individuals, who often travel to countries like Australia, Venezuela, India, Afghanistan, Myanmar and even Canada.
