A highlight of the collection “Tribute to Famous Composers”, this novelty demonstrates an enviable level of mastery, accomplished in miniature “Grand Feu” enamel painting techniques.

In 1963, Marc Chagall, a Russian-born artist, was invited to repaint the 220 square meter ceiling of the Paris Opera, also known as Palais Garnier. It took him a year to complete this challenging assignment. The intensive work resulted in a true masterpiece, which honored the greatest composers. The artist divided the ceiling into five sections, each exposing a dominant color - blue, green, white, yellow and red.

The peerless artisans within the watch manufacture invested over three and a half months of painstaking effort in reproducing Chagall’s entire artwork in miniature on an enamel dial with a diameter equal to 31 mm. They utilized the aforementioned traditional Genevan technique known as ”Grand Feu”, characterized by miniature painting on enamel.

The new Calibre 2253 was created by the brand’s engineering department. The development of the movement required more than several thousands of hours.
