Vacheron Constantin Creates Platinum Pocket Watch

Sep 10, 2009
The Swiss watch-making house Vacheron Constantin has proudly announced its newest long expected model, the Patrimony Contemporaine pocket watch from the Excellence Platine collection. Incredible as it may seem, the brand, famous for its commitment to heritage, hasnt launched any pocket timepieces since 1992.

The timepiece, with its width equal to 43 mm, will incorporate the novel Caliber 4400 movement, entirely executed by Vacheron Constantin. The movement, bearing the Geneva Seal, is on full display through the sapphire crystal in the watch case-back. This timekeeper indicates the hours and minutes only.

The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Contemporaine watch is sculptured entirely in platinum. It implies that the case, dial, hour markers and hands are entirely manufactured from this exceptional and expensive material. Vacheron Constantin is a pioneer in this domain: the brand was the first to take the usage of platinum to the new frontiers.

The style of the new Vacheron Constantin watch is borrowed from its counterpart, which is included into the Patrimony Contemporaine line.

Proposed in a blue leather pouch, the pocket watch is accompanied by a matching blue leather strap. This novel model, manufactured by Vacheron Constantin, will be offered as a limited series of just 50 items.
