Urwerk

Since its foundation in 1997, the
Urwerk Company has maintained the tradition of marking the birth of each new collection by creating ten exclusive timepieces clothed in black, a supreme color, attracting the light and at the same time swallowing all the other colors. This year the brand is proud to introduce the new black platinum 'Hexagon'.

Urwerk never ceases to delight its faithful admirers. With its
new UR-110 ZrN Torpedo Champagne Supernova watch, the timepiece manufacture continues its streak of excellence.
The company’s brainchild is created in the tradition of indicating time by means of
orbiting satellite complications on planetary gears. They feature hour and minute modules, which evoke torpedoes.
The new Urwerk watch has the time displayed on its right side. The satellites follow a vertical line, marked with a graduation from 0 to 60, in a downward motion. This very structure enables the user to view the time without pulling back his cuff or sleeve. The watch face also offers running seconds, a day/night display and an oil-change indicator.

The horological company
Urwerk gladly delivers its new extraordinary watch, named
UR-110 Torpedo. It shows the time on the right side, using an
orbiting satellite complication.
The complication is composed of three counter-rotating hour modules. Mounted on a planetary gear, each item comprises an
hour satellite, a minute hand and a counter balance.
These modules are in permanent rotation, which counters the direction of revolution of the central carousel. The latter ensures the stability and equilibrium of the complication. The satellites follow a 60-minute vertical line, in a downward motion.
The new Urwerk watch also provides an "Oil Change" indicator, which tells the user when it is time for a service. The “Day/Night” indicator keeps him aware of changing time zones.

Urwerk has proudly released its new one-of-a-kind timepiece - the
UR-103 Phoenix watch to be officially unveiled at
Only Watch 2011. This charity auction, aimed at assisting the research on
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, will be held in
Monaco on September, 22.
Inspired by the Phoenix, rising from the flames, the new Urwerk watch is proposed in a
polished white gold case - 50mm x 36mm x 13.5mm. It is hand-decorated by the master engraver
Jean-Vincent Huguenin. The case is submersible down to
3 atm.
The front of the model is protected by a sapphire crystal with glare-proofed coating. The back-side, meanwhile, is rendered in
titanium and coated with
PECVD (Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition) treatment.
A symbol of incredible resistance, the novelty offers a wandering hour indication on a four-arm carousel. The latter is sand-blasted and satin-finished. The time is shown by the orbiting hour satellites as they pass the arc of the minutes. The hours and minutes scales are inlaid with luminous compound. The display is controlled by a two-position winding crown.

In 2011,
Urwerk presents a new version of its UR-202, also famous as "The Hammerhead". Now, the bold time machine demonstrates a radical full metal body on a metal bracelet. The
UR-202S was born due to the brand’s close collaboration with the high-end bracelet producer, Maspoli.
Maspoli, having cooperated with the field of haute horlogerie since 1951, worked hard to come up with the
Rolls Royce of bracelets. All the components, and even the tools for bracelet manufacturing, were manufactured independently by Maspoli. The
bracelet creation takes 11 separate steps to reach the top level of refinement.
The UR-202S stands out among other members of the collection due to the
signature three-dimensional vertical lines on the dial. Therefore, "S" in the name of the watch stands for "Stripe".

Extremely complicated, the
new Urwerk UR-1001 Zeit Device watch is a milestone in the horological history of the 21st century.
Offered in a
limited edition of 8 pieces, the new
Urwerk watch is rendered in
AlTiN steel with titanium elements. AlTiN, that is Aluminium Titanium Nitride, is an industrial surface coating, originally created to reduce the wear of machine cutting tools. With its increased oxidation resistance and hardness as well as semi-matte black color, this material happens to be an ideal high-tech treatment for the model in question.
The measurements of the case are
106mm x 62mm x 23mm. It is submersible to
3 ATM. Both front and back sides of the timepiece are fitted with sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating.
The new Urwerk watch is worn on a chain, composed of hand-made, heat-blackened steel links. It terminates in the brand’s bespoke clasp with carbineer closure.

The renowned watchmaking house
Urwerk is marking the 7th anniversary of its
103 collection. This is a kind of a farewell celebration, since the brand is about to stop the production of the collection at the end of the year.
According to
Martin Frei, this extraordinary line is a successful combination of refined technology and supreme elegance. This signature assemblage has reached a pinnacle in its development and, therefore, it deserves a worthy end.
Reinterpreted in a modern way, the brand’s famous
Tarantula watch has been bestowed with the evocative name of
Mexican Fireleg. The UR-103T watch strikes the eye with its charismatic design. The watch has been issued as a limited series of 60 pieces, while the release of the Shining T interpretation, encouraged by the world of Manga, has been restricted to just 33 items.
