With the presentation of its new Alexander the Great Westminster Carillon Tourbillon Jaquemarts Minute Repeater watch, the house of Ulysse Nardin provides a true delight to the enthusiasts of fine horology.

Traditional, yet technically advanced, the new Ulysse Nardin watch is set in a 44mm case. It is crafted from 18 ct rose gold or 18 ct white gold. Both front and back sides of the model are fitted with sapphire crystals. The case is built to be 30-meter water-resistant.

Inside the timepiece is beating a hand-wound Caliber UN-78 movement. Set with 36 jewels, it offers a 70-hour power reserve. Integrated into the mechanism is a minute repeater complication, which amazes the public with its audible function of four different chimes.

The caliber breathes life into central hours and minutes, presented on a man made polycrystalline diamond dial. The face of the new Ulysse Nardin Alexander the Great Westminster Carillon Tourbillon Jaquemarts Minute Repeater watch portrays Alexander the Great clad in armor and engaged in battle. The user can enjoy five hand-crafted figures, which stand out against a charcoal-colored background.

The movements of the eye-catching images are synchronized with the sound of gongs, striking minutes, quarters and hours. Thus, the armed warrior on the far left stands static. Next to him is a saber-wielding combatant, which makes a strike when the gongs sound on the quarters and hours. A spear-thrusting horse rider and a skilled archer make their moves when the quarters are indicated. The one shielded in red armor attacks both the quarter and minute indicators.

The mesmerizing design of the dial is completed by a tourbillion mechanism, revealed in the opening at 6 oclock.

The new Ulysse Nardin watch is teamed with an alligator leather strap, which joins to a folding buckle. Its issue is limited to 50 pieces for each version.
