The new Breguet watch has adopted a 44 mm case crafted from stainless steel. It displays a two-way rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale. The case is also fitted with a screw-locked two-position crown. Enclosed in the case is the brand’s proprietary self-winding chronograph movement - Caliber 589F, which provides a flyback function and a second time-zone. The mechanism is equipped with a silicon escapement and a flat balance spring, which frequency constitutes 72,000 vibrations per hour. Paved with 28 jewels, the movement offers a 45-hour power-reserve.
The Type XXII watch is adorned with a powerful oxidized black dial signed Breguet. Its hands and hour-markers are treated with a luminous compound to ensure that the time is easily read even in poor light conditions. The display is equipped with a chapter ring with Arabic numerals. Set within the dial are the half-minute totalizer and the 24-hour indicator. They are located at the center and at 3 o’clock respectively.
At 6 o’clock, the watch face features a second time-zone indicator completed with luminous Arabic numerals. It is joined by a small second counter on a 30-second basis nestled at 9 o’clock. The 30 / 60 seconds indicator is presented in an aperture at 12 o’clock. The date is revealed in an exhibition window positioned at 6 o’clock.
The technical amenities of the timepiece also include a red chronograph’s seconds hand on a 30-second basis.
The Breguet watch crown is used for resetting the second time-zone indicator. Without affecting the minute hand, it moves the hour hand at the center. With the crown turned in that position, the indications of the date calendar correspond to the time of the main time-zone displayed at the centre. Located at 3 o’clock, the 24-hour night-and-day indicator, informs the watch owner whether it is daytime or nighttime in the area embraced by the second time-zone.
The marvelous Brequet Type XXII watch is completed by an integrated alligator leather strap. Its water-resistance is assured down to 100 meters.
