Meet New Breguet Type XXI Watch

Apr 08, 2011
Breguet is pleased to unveil its new Type XXI watch. It is based on the Type XX chronograph created by the brand for the French naval air arm in the 1950s.

The new Breguet watch stands out due to its chronograph minutes counter that is found in the centre instead of the common seconds counter.

The heart of the watch is a self-winding chronograph movement equipped with a flyback function that implies that you can reset to zero the chronograph counter and restart it instantly with a single operation. Besides the flyback chronograph, the movement animates a date, a 24-hour indicator and a small seconds hand. The 25-jewel movement gives an advantage of a 45-hour power reserve.

The new Type XXI watch demonstrates a grade 2 titanium case, 42 mm in diameter. It incorporates a black lacquered unidirectional rotating bezel completed with numerals in relief, as well as a fluted case-band and rounded lugs. Fitted with a screw-locked crown, the case is 100-meter water-resistant.

The matt black dial offers great readability even under reduced light conditions due to its luminescent hands and hour-markers. The 24-hour indicator is positioned at 3 oclock, the 12-hour counter and the date are found at 6 oclock, and the small seconds are at 9 oclock.

The new Breguet Type XXI watch is secured to the wrist on a calfskin leather strap or a titanium bracelet.
