The dial of the new Cartier watch demonstrates a high-relief engraving incorporating four pieces assembled and adjusted with utmost precision.

The engraving and assembly work required more than 60 hours, while champleve grand feu enamelling required 25 hours. The wild cat is depicted in seven shades – grey, black, opal-white, mauve, opaque white, and brown- and green-yellows.
The case and dial of the watch are sculptured in 18K yellow gold. The octagonal crown is embellished with a sapphire.
The heart of the Cartier watch is an in-house mechanical manual-winding movement - Calibre 9601 MC.
The new Cartier Tortue XL watch embraces the wrist with a semi-matt black alligator leather strap fitted with an adjustable folding clasp. The precious timepiece is 30-meter water-resistant.
