The new Parmigiani watch is set in an ultra-flat case, constructed from 18 carat rose gold or white gold. It is 7.8 mm thick and has a diameter of 39 mm. Round in shape, the case boasts the company’s iconic lugs and a winding crown, nestled at 3 o’clock. The model handles depths of up to 30 meters.
The case is complimented by an extremely pure dial, performed in graphite or grained white. Embraced by an elegant polished bezel, it exposes whisker slender hour-markers. The dial is swept over by feuille-shaped hour an minutes hands. Treated with a luminous compound, they ensure optimum legibility at all times.
The small seconds are indicated in a counter, positioned at 6 o’clock. The brand’s emblematic oval logo, located beneath the 12 o’clock hour-marker, completes the successful design of the new Tonda 1950 watch.
The precise display of the time is guaranteed by an in-house manufactured self-winding PF700 movement. It incorporates a platinum rotor and sand-blasted, rubbed-down or “Cote de Geneve” embellished bridges, which can be admired through a sapphire crystal case-back.
The nickel silver main plate of the mechanism is sand-blasted, circular-grained and then rhodium-plated. The caliber in question is just 2.6 mm thick and measures 30 mm in diameter. It supplies a power reserve of 42 hours.
Keeping the new Parmigiani watch secured to the wearer’s wrist is an alligator strap, fitted with a case-matching buckle.
