The creator of the watch wanted it to portray Time in two ways – you will see a straight white line that never ends - it symbolizes linear time, having suggested the name of the timepiece. But you will also notice a circle on the dial symbolizing cyclical time and the eternal new beginning.
CharlElie explains that his idea was to express the concept of Time in a path. He wanted the watch to make one think of the movement of time and the movement of people. The artist was inspired for the idea of the watch by the streets of New York, his place of living since 2004.
THE LINE demonstrates beautiful use of lacquer. The signature feature of the design - THE LINE that crosses the dial - is created in white lacquer and contrasts nicely with the matt black background of the dial. The dial also shows off the artist’s signature. It is shielded by a curved glass.
The finely crafted square stainless steel case demonstrates a black PVD finish. The crown is engraved with the SH logo. The crown is accentuated in orange lacquer, nicely matching the hands. The case is coupled with a black crocodile leather strap fitted with a pin buckle.
The see-through case-back reveals the heart of the timepiece - the ETA 2824 automatic movement. The 26-ruby movement is beating at the rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement boasts a pearly finish and diamante snailed decoration.
Its oscillating weight is embellished with a Cote-de-Geneve finish in black gold. There is also an engraving of the brand’s name and the SH logo. The movement animates the functions of hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as the date via a window at 7 o’clock.
The Saint Honore THE LINE watch is 50-meter water-resistant. The anniversary timepiece is expected to be available at the price of 1500 Euros.
