The tarmac-shaded black dial is completed with two sub-dials - 30-minute totaliser and small seconds sub-dial. Their design has been inspired by the military chronographs born in the sixties. The chronograph seconds are indicated with help of a bright yellow hand in the center and a double circular scale inspired by the radars of aeroplane cockpits.
The dial is created to provide perfect time-readability. All of the time indications, including the index, central hands, and small second counter, are rendered in shiny black steel. As for the indications of the Fly Back chronograph, they are accentuated by yellow, a color widely applied in the aeronautics world.
The heart of the new Louis Vuitton watch is the LV 137 automatic calibre created in the Dubois-Dépraz Swiss workshops. The movement offers 42 hours of power reserve and the date function presented via the date window between 4 and 5 o’clock.
The 44mm case is crafted in stainless steel. The case construction incorporates a rubber-overmolded winding crown for optimal ergonomics. The case is teamed with an alligator and calfskin leather strap embellished with yellow stitching.
The Louis Vuitton Tambour “Fly Back” Automatic Chronograph watch is available in a limited edition of 888 pieces.
