The TAG Heuer iconic Monaco collection has been joined by a bold newcomer – the Monaco LS Chronograph Calibre 12. The timepiece is a tribute to the brand’s passion for high-speed and endurance racing. It also honors the original Monaco, an automatic, square-faced, blue chronograph, worn by Steve McQueen 40 years ago on the Le Mans circuit.
The
Tag Heuer Monaco LS Chronograph Calibre 12 watch accommodates a reliable and functional Dubois Depraz caliber. The zest of the movement is that the seconds are presented in a linear way via a rectangular opening at 3 o'clock, being indicated by the tip of a red rhodium hand. This way the seconds can be read at a glance and are easily distinguished from the chronograph functions.

TAG Heuer has made another bold attempt to completely change the rules of traditional watchmaking. This year, the brand is expected to introduce its final version of the
Monaco V4 watch, surprisingly as it may seem, inspired by automobile engines.
Engines and mechanical watches are actually based on the same concepts: transmission, friction, torque and power. TAG Heuer became the first to successfully apply these concepts in a completely new way - a rotating oscillating weight for automatic winding is substituted by a
4.25-gram platinum ingot used as a kind of cylinder, in a
linear movement.
The transmission of power from the conventional wheels has been substituted by a
drive-belt transmission with 13 notched belts.
