The advanced version of the revolutionary Calibre S has been created as a one-of-a-kind motor–racing-inspired mechanism. The new ultra-accurate wrist chronograph, developed to correspond to the best expectations of most avid fans of racing, is a whole timekeeping system on the wrist with analog time indications display. The movement offers retrograde functions for 1/10th and 1/100th second intervals and a best lap indicator (up to 20 laps).

The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is provided with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. Inspired by a race car, the controls of the TAG Heuer watch - the dual fluted crowns, and textured 45-degree pushpieces - enhance the ergonomic design and ultimate functionality.
The tachymeter bezel for measuring average times has titanium carbide finishing for greater durability and stealthy good looks. The timepiece boasts 100-meter water resistance.
The black or silver dial of the TAG Heuer SLR Calibre S Laptimer Chronograph features a vertical streak pattern. The dial is completed with three hand-applied semi-circular counters:
- lap counter at 12 o'clock with Chrono mode indicator at 9:30 and Best Lap mode indicator at 2:30
- 1/10th second retrograde counter at 4:30
- 1/100th second retrograde counter at 7:30
You will also notice such details as hand-applied curved indexes, polished-finished hands, chronograph hands with red tips, luminescent markers on hands and indexes and an inner bi-directional turning bezel that is driven by the crown at 9 o'clock.
The TAG Heuer SLR Calibre S Laptimer Chronograph is the first SLR watch to be produced not as a limited edition. The timepiece will be available starting with October 2008.
The TAG Heuer watch goes on 5-row steel bracelet fitted with a solid steel folding clasp featuring SLR lettering and safety push buttons. It is also available on a black natural rubber strap with textures suggested by the lateral air intake of the SLR 722 car. The strap is fitted with a polished steel folding clasp with SLR lettering and safety push buttons.
