The new watch is animated by the TAG Heuer Calibre 36 RS automatic movement. The COSC-chronometer-certified movement incorporates two Rotating Systems that indicate the chronograph minutes at 3 o’clock and chronograph hours at 6. The linear permanent seconds are presented at 9 o’clock. The date window is found at 4:30.
Featuring the above mentioned indications, the black dial of the watch is completed with hand-applied curved faceted indexes with double finishings, the polished hands with polished facets and luminescent markers and a red chronograph seconds hand. The dial is protected by a double antireflective curved sapphire crystal.
The case of the Grand CARRERA Calibre 36 RS2 Caliper Chronograph Ti2 measures 43mm in diameter. It is crafted from grade 2 Titanium (Ti2), a remarkably resistant and biocompatible pure metal, two times lighter than steel. The same material is used for all the case components, including the big crown with a red line at 10 o’clock, fine-brushed with polished facets push buttons, curved faceted polished horns, a fine-brushed and polished bezel, a screw-in crown at 3 o’clock, as well as the case back sealed by six screws. The timepiece, reviewed by watches.infoniac.com, is 100-meter water-resistant.
The crown at 10 o’clock is used for activating the Caliper Rotating Scale that provides magnified 10X reading to 1/10th of a second. The bezel features the tachymeter scale.
The TAG Heuer watch is secured to the wrist on a stylish black rubber strap or a masculine titanium bracelet.
The TAG Heuer Grand CARRERA Calibre 36 RS2 Caliper Chronograph Ti is expected to be available starting with September 2009.
