Ralph Lauren Sporting World Time Watch - Invitation to Travel

Dec 07, 2012
Ralph Lauren unveils its new Sporting World Time watch. The novelty has been inspired by Ralph Laurens personal love of travel and exploration. It has been developed as a long-distance traveling companion keeping its owner aware of the sequence of time around the globe.

The new Ralph Lauren watch features an engraved disc that displays all 24 time zones of the world. The timepiece simultaneously displays the local time and a second time zone selected from the disc. The watch also provides a day/night indicator, a power-reserve display and a calendar. The world time function is really easy to operate - simply by the turn of the 10 oclock crown the user selects the city.

It should be mentioned that the 3 oclock crown is used for time setting and winding.

The Sporting World Time watch demonstrates a timelessly elegant yet relaxed look. Its 45 mm case is fashioned in brushed stainless steel. It boasts 100-meter water-resistance. The case is teamed with a cobalt blue alligator leather strap fitted with a matching pin buckle. The bezel is fixed with six functional screws.

The deep blue varnished dial is completed with white transferred Roman numerals and railroad-style minute track. The hours and minutes are indicated by silvery Breguet-shaped hands. The seconds hand stands out due to its bright red color.

The face of the watch is protected by a convex sapphire crystal with external and internal anti-reflective treatment. The sapphire crystal case-back is secured with 6 screws.

The heart of the Ralph Lauren Sporting World Time watch is a mechanical self-winding movement developed by Jaeger-LeCoultre for Ralph Lauren - the Caliber RL939. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the 305part, 34-jewel mechanism offers a 40-hour power reserve.
