Omega Unveils Speedmaster Moonwatch "Apollo 15" 40th Anniversary Watch

Omega marks the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 15 by the introduction of the new limited edition timepiece the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch "Apollo 15" 40th Anniversary Limited Edition watch. The timepiece will be available in a limited series of 1,971 pieces.

The polished and brushed stainless steel case incorporates a bezel with a black aluminum ring featuring a tachymeter scale. The black face of the watch is shielded by a domed shatterproof hesalite crystal with an etched Omega symbol. The minute track is accentuated by blue, white and red colors that also surround the sub-dials. The colors match those of the Apollo 15 patch.

The new Omega watch is animated the brands famous caliber 1861, the manual-winding chronograph movement, the heart of the legendary Speedmaster Professional.

The timepiece is a tribute to Apollo 15 that became the fourth of NASAs six missions of landing to the moon.

The case-back demonstrates an image of the Lunar Rover. It also features the words Apollo 15 and 40th Anniversary, the letters The First Watch Worn on the Moon, "July 30, 1971", as well as an engraving of the limited edition number.

The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch "Apollo 15" 40th Anniversary Limited Edition watch is presented on a polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet.
