New Pilot's Watch from Omega - Spacemaster Z-33

Apr 09, 2012
Omega fans as well as amateur and professional pilots will be pleased to find out that the brand unveils its new Spacemaster Z-33 watch. The novelty has inherited the signature "Pilot Line" case shape. It is animated by a new multifunction thermo-compensated quartz movement - calibre 5666.

The new Omega watch smartly combines the digital and analogue displays. The analogue hands are positioned above the digital dial. You can adjust them with help of the 3 o’clock crown.

The case construction incorporates four pushers necessary to control the digital functions, including the date, UTC and two time zones (available in 12 or 24 hour display), an alarm and a perpetual calendar. The watch also provides a chronograph function and a countdown timer.

Pilots will appreciate self-programmable professional pilot functions. They will be able to log up to ten flights. The logs will be featured as date-hour indications.

The iconic case of the Spacemaster Z-33 is crafted from grade 5 titanium. It demonstrates brushed, polished and sandblasted finishing. As for the case-back, it displays the brand’s polished Seahorse, the Ω symbol, the word “Speedmaster” and the serial number. The case-back is secured by four screws. It boasts the “double wall” construction acting as a resonance chamber that amplifies the alarm sound.

The face of the Omega watch is shielded by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal provided with anti-reflective treatment. The timepiece is 30-meter water-resistant.

The matt black dial of the Spacemaster Z-33 watch features white indexes and skeletonised hour and minute hands coated with white Super-LumiNova. The digital functions are presented with help of two large display panels with black backgrounds and red digital segments. Due to the use of the transreflective LCD technology, the panels guarantee perfect readability under any light conditions.

The transreflective technology automatically regulates the luminosity of the digital displays, so the data provided by them can be equally easily read on night flights and in direct sunlight. The technology also saves battery power.

The digital display guarantees superb readability under all conditions, even if you wear polarized glasses.

To get a full view of the digital displays, you simply depress the 8 o’clock pusher to make the skeletonised hands get disengaged to either 3 o’clock or 9 o’clock.

The case is teamed with a black rubber strap featuring the inscriptions “OMEGA” and "Speedmaster" in red. You can also wear it on a brown “Soft Touch” leather strap.

The rubber strap is fitted with a model-specific Titanium folding clasp (it is worth mentioning that the Omega specialists used grade 5 titanium for all the visible parts and grade 2 for the moving parts). As for the leather strap, it is fitted with a standard titanium folding clasp. Both clasps are embellished with the Omega logo.

The Omega Spacemaster Z-33 watch is delivered in a presentation box, along with a detailed manual.
