Omega Unveils Seamaster Planet Ocean Ceragold Watches

In 2012, the highly successful Omega Planet Ocean collection welcomes newcomers – the Seamaster Planet Ocean Ceragold watches. The new timepieces stand out due to their ceramic bezels featuring a diving scale created with help of the brand’s innovative product - Ceragold. Omega is the first watchmaking brand that incrusted Ceragold into the zirconium-based ceramic bezel.

Following the steps of other members of the collection, the new Omega Ceragold watches boast characteristics of professional dive timekeepers: a unidirectional rotating bezel and a helium escape valve. They are 600-meter water-resistant.

The dials are completed with 18K red gold applied indexes provided with white Super-LumiNova coating, the same as the polished, facetted 18K red gold hands. The coating makes them emit blue light for perfect readability in the dark. As for the minute hand and the dot on the diving bezel, the coating makes them emit green light. The divers wearing the Omega watches can easily keep track of the elapsed dive time at a glance.

The new Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph Ceragold watch demonstrates a 45.50 mm case rendered in 18K red gold. The glance is caught by the polished black zirconium-based ceramic bezel ring with the Ceragold diving scale.

The new Omega watch is animated by the brand’s Co-Axial calibre 9301. The brand presented the movement in 2011 as the first chronograph to have joined its exclusive family of Co-Axial movements. The movement boasts fine finishing - an 18K red gold rotor and balance bridge, as well as blackened screws, barrels and balance wheel.

The movement allows the adjustment of the hour hand without interfering with the work of the minute or seconds hands. Frequent travelers can easily change between time zones. The construction of the movement incorporates a silicon balance spring. The timepiece is given a full four-year warranty.

The lacquered black dial features the 60-minute and 12-hour sub-dial at 3 o’clock, while the small seconds sub-dial is found at 9 o’clock.

The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ceragold White Planet St. Moritz watch pays tribute to the Swiss mountain resort town of St. Moritz. This is the place for holding the most famous bobsleigh races, with Omega acting as the official timekeeper of the events.

The Omega Ceragold watch features a 42 mm case crafted from 18K red gold. It incorporates a white ceramic bezel, also with a Ceragold diving scale. The brushed screw-in case-back demonstrates engravings of “Si14” (referring to the movement’s silicon balance spring), “Ceragold”, “White Planet” and “St. Moritz”. The sapphire crystal window in the case-back allows to drop a glance at the fine mechanical movement beating inside.

The timepiece is animated by the brand’s Co-Axial calibre 8501 built with an 18K red gold rotor and balance bridge. Its balance spring is produced from silicon. The watch is also provided with a four-year warranty.
