Edox Chronograph Grand Ocean AutomaticIn 2009, Edox, one of the few independent watchmakers, celebrates its 125th anniversary. To pay tribute to its first marine sports timepieces introduced in the 1960-s, Edox has created a collection named Grand Ocean. The collection comprises mechanical watches devoted to the maritime world.
The new Edox Grand Ocean Chronograph Automatic watch features a sporty, decidedly masculine case, 48 mm in diameter, sculptured in hand-polished stainless steel with black and red-gold PVD-coating. The vulcanized rubber strap is attached to the case with help of three signature lugs. The case incorporates a fixed gold-colored PVD notched bezel.
The watch is animated by the automatic rewind calibre Edox no. 012, highly acclaimed for its reliability. The 25-jewel movement, beating at a frequency of 28,800 alternations per hour, provides a 42-hour power reserve. Besides hours, minutes and seconds, the movement animates a 12-hour chronograph and a date display.
The case also incorporates a gold-colored screw-down crown to be used for winding the watch and adjusting the time and date. The crown is adorned with the Edox logo, representing a stylized hourglass. The two push-pieces are used for operating the chronograph start-stop-reset functions.
The hand-finished dial is completed with manually applied indexes. The time is indicated by gold-colored hour and minute hands, as well as a small seconds hand featuring a compass-like style. You will also notice the dial is embellished with a compass-like relief.
The dial of the Edox watch is protected by a scratchproof domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
A highly original viewing porthole in the case-back shows the beating heart of the mechanical timepiece. The case-back also features a map of the world's oceans.
The Edox Grand Ocean Chronograph Automatic watch is water-resistant down to 100 meters.
The strap features an embossed “Grand Ocean” logo and is fitted a deployment clasp with another porthole, also with the brand’s logo.
Edox Sea Dubai Limited EditionEdox and Sea Dubai Sailing share the same values - perfection, reliability and precision, prestige and performance. To celebrate the successful partnership with Sea Dubai Sailing, Edox has created a new limited edition watch. The timepiece is limited to 500 pieces.
The case of the Edox watch, 45 mm in diameter, is sculptured from hand-polished stainless steel. The case features two-color PVD-coating in blue and steel. The timepiece is 100-metre water-resistant.
The dial of the watch, a true masterpiece of craftsmanship, reflects the brand’s outstanding expertise. The zest of the dial is a “jumping hour” display positioned at 12 o’clock. The dial stands out due to two different layers, with clearly separated hours, minutes and seconds. The dial is shielded by a non-reflecting, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
The Edox Sea Dubai Limited Edition watch is equipped with the self-winding calibre Edox no. 47. The 27-jewel movement performs 28,800 alternations per hour. It provides 42 hours of power-reserve.
The case-back of the watch also demonstrates the precision craftsmanship. Connoisseurs of the inner life of the timepiece can admire the balance wheel through a porthole. The case-back also features the official royal “Sea Dubai Sailing” emblem.
