The one-of-a-kind Titanic DNA bezel is fitted with 80 hand-applied rivets. The bezel is created from a mixture of real material taken from the RMS Titanic shipwreck, found 3840 meters under the sea, and steel got from Harland & Wolff, the very Belfast shipyard where the legendary Titanic was constructed.
The face of the watch reveals the intricate nature of the sophisticated Concepto Tourbillon movement. The face features hands inspired by an anchor and oversized Roman numeral in satin-brushed and beveled steel. You will immediately notice four bolts, including the two located on springs. The design of the bolts makes one think of the watertight hatches of great ships.
The tourbillon cage is supported by a beveled steel bridge and performs a full revolution every 60-seconds. It bears the complex escapement. A balance with screwed weights makes 21,600 vibrations per hour. The case back of the watch has a sapphire crystal exhibition window that allows to see an off-centered winding rotor that boasts the shape of an anchor. The movement gives an advantage of 72 hours of power reserve.
The Romain Jerome Titanic-DNA Tourbillon Steampunk A la Grande watch will be extremely limited to just nine pieces. Besides steel or titanium versions, the watch will be available in a pink gold variation featuring rusted steel accents.
The goes on a rubber or hornback crocodile strap fitted with a folding clasp. It is 50-meter water resistant.
