Famous Rolex Submariner James Bond's Watch to be Auctioned

The famous Rolex Submariner watch that acted in the Live and let die movie on James Bond’s wrist is to be auctioned at Christie’s Geneva.

The Rolex watch, ref. 5513, modified by the well-known Q Branch, is no doubt a real star among the most famous Submariners. It is sure to attract a great deal of attention from watch fans and those in love with cinematography, and James Bond movies in particular.

The timepiece was born in 1972. It was designed specially for the legendary spy in Live and Let Die by the universally famous British film production designer Syd Cain. The designer has worked on about 30 movies, four of which belong to the James Bond 1960 - 1970s movie series.

The Rolex Submariner watch boasted a bezel that could cut ropes and chains when spinning at high speed. The timepiece was also provided with a powerful magnet meant to neutralize bullets. Instead, the magnet was used by the spy to unzip Ms. Solitaire’s dress.

The unique Rolex watch will be offered together with an original construction drawing and two signed images.
