Rolex Oyster Perpertual Cosmograph Daytona 2011 Watch - Homage to Legendary Heritage

Mar 30, 2011
Rolex is glad to offer its new Oyster Perpertual Cosmograph Daytona 2011 watch, which combines appealing design and high-quality craftsmanship.

Originally issued in 1963, the Cosmograph Daytona watch was closely associated with the world of speed and automobile sport. The part of its name that is “Daytona” refers to the most famous motor racing circuit in the United States.

The new version of the acclaimed Rolex watch is proposed with an everose gold case. The alloy is created by the brand. The case is offset by a monobloc black cerachrom bezel, which brings to mind that of the 1965 timepiece. Characterized by perfect readability, it is produced from advanced ceramic, which is non-fading as well as corrosion and scratch-resistant.

The bezel of the new Rolex Oyster Perpertual Cosmograph Daytona 2011 watch features a number of graduations. They are achieved by the deposition of a fine layer of pink gold via a magnetron cathode sputtering PVD process.

The bezel forms a frame around a chocolate brown or ivory colored dial. It is equipped with gold-hour-markers. Apart from central hours and minutes, the display ensures chronograph functions. They are presented through the counters at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock as well as the central chronograph seconds hand.

The functions are driven by a calibre 4130 movement. It is equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch, entirely manufactured in the brand’s workshops. The mechanism also incorporates a parachrom hairspring with a Breguet overcoil.

The new Rolex watch is teamed with a black alligator leather strap, which terminates in a gold folding clasp and safety catch.
