Richard Mille enjoys the partnership with Michelle Yeoh, a talented actress and bright personality. Impressed buy Michelle’s talents and femininity, the company’s management offered her to design a special timepiece for women who appreciate technical excellence behind luxurious exterior.

In collaboration with Melanie Treton-Monceyron, Artistic Director of Richard Mille, Michelle developed the new RM 051 Phoenix Michelle Yeoh watch. As its name suggests, the novelty was inspired by the phoenix, considered to be the kindest of the birds in Chinese mythology. The phoenix symbolizes five human qualities: its head embodies virtue, its wings - duty, its back -justice, its chest - goodwill and its belly stands for reliability.

The new Richard Mille watch is offered in a limited edition of 18 pieces. It is delivered in a tripartite tonneau-shaped 18k white gold, 18K red gold and titanium gem-set case. Creating the body of the model was time-consuming and required a great amount of skilled labor. Thus, the craftsmen carried out 47 stamping operations, including 21 for the forming. The process of tooling took 4 hours and the watch underwent 255 milling operations. The finishing process demanded an entire day for grinding, glazing and polishing.

On its front side the timekeeper is assembled with a double-sided glare-proofed sapphire crystal. The same glass is used for the back part. At 3 o’clock, the watch sports a torque limiting crown. The security system protects the crown from accidental over-winding. The case is fitted with two Nitril O-ring seals and is water-resistant down to 50 meters. The timepiece is also equipped with 12 spline screws in grade 5 titanium and abrasion-resistant washers in 316L stainless steel.

The new Richard Mille RM 051 Phoenix Michelle Yeoh watch is endowed with interior flanges. The upper flange is done in black carbon fiber and features a diamond-set hour index. The lower flange, made of the same material, reveals a minute index in white color.

The fascinating open-worked dial is controlled by a hand-wound caliber RM051 tourbillon movement, which drives hours, minutes and a power reserve indicator. The movement incorporates a black onyx base plate and bridges made of titanium.

Paved with 21 jewels, the mechanism runs at the rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour and supplies a 48-hour power reserve. The movement is also endowed with a KIF Elastor KE 160 B28 shock protection system.

The dazzling design of the new Richard Mille lady’s watch is completed by a black leather strap.
