The small American company RGM, that is Roland G Murphy of Lancaster, PA, is delighted to deliver its new 151P watch with a design of the utmost purity.
The measured time is read off on an attractive dial, performed in deep matte gray. It comprises light-toned Arabic numerals. The extremity of the display features an unusual minute track, divided into 4 segments. At 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, the face of the new RGM watch exposes triangles, treated with a high-grade Superluminova coating.
The hours and minutes are indicated by means of broad hands, which are matched in their color to the oversized numbers and minute graduation. Taking care of seconds is a slim hand, tipped with an arrow.
The hands are also highlighted with Superluminova compound, which accentuates readability of the indications. The timeless look of the display is completed by the brand’s logo, presented beneath the triangle at 12 o’clock.
Shielding the dial is a flat uncoated sapphire crystal, encircled by an unconventional ultra-thin stepped bezel. The latter is incorporated into the structure of a noble case. Its measurements are 38.5 mm x 9.8 mm. The body of the new 151P watch exposes a mirror or “black” finish, which is regarded as one of the most labor-intensive.
The case is equipped with an eye-catching onion-shaped crown, traditionally located at 3 o’clock. The model also sports a screwed case-back, fitted with a sapphire crystal. The construction of the case is capable of withstanding water pressures down to 50 meters.
Keeping the timepiece perfectly on track is a reliable ETA 2892-A2 automatic movement. It incorporates a rotor, marked with the RGM logo.
The new RGM watch is teamed with a light brown Camille Fournet alligator strap. However, the 20 mm lugs, featured on the case, allow the wearer to replace this strap by something more desirable. For example, the model can be successfully coupled with a spare Milanese mesh bracelet.
