This year, the house of Boucheron has sent tremors through the horological world by launching its amazing Reflet XL Chateau Latour Vintage 2005 men’s watch.
The chief attribute of this model is surely its appealing dial. Crafted from a 200-year old French oak, it narrates an exciting story.
The point is, that before becoming a part of the new Boucheron watch, this very wood was employed in the manufacturing of the barrels, in which Chateau Latour’s Grand Millesime 2005 vintage was aged.
The wine and wood interacted in the darkness of the ancestral wine cellar. As a result, the wood gradually absorbed a small amount of wine, known as “the Angel’s share”.
Distinguished by sensual tones of carmine red and crimson, the “Angel’s wood” became a perfect material for the display of the new model and marked it as strikingly masculine.
The mesmerizing dial of the new Reflet XL Chateau Latour Vintage 2005 watch is equipped with large light-toned Arabic numerals. Gliding over them are centralized hands, which serve to indicate hours, minutes and seconds. The display also offers a date indication, which appears in a round aperture at 1 o’clock.
These useful functions are brought to life by a self-winding mechanical Girard-Perregaux movement - caliber GP4000. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 40-hour power reserve.
The reliable mechanism is enclosed in a rectangular-shaped case, rendered in steel. It features the dimensions of 31.5 mm x 45.0 mm. The thickness of the case is equal to 9.8 mm. The case is also equipped with a powerful time-setting crown, conventionally located at 3 o’clock. The timepiece is capable of withstanding water pressures down to 50 meters.
The model in question is teamed with a leather strap. A union of refined architecture and useful functions, the new Boucheron watch is offered in a limited edition of just 100 pieces.
