The exclusive technique, known as the mystery setting
, devised by Van Cleef & Arpels
implies setting precious stones without any claws left for one's view. The unique technique has been successfully applied in Rebellion's new REB-5 Tourbillon Full Diamond watch
. The underlying metal is absolutely invisible and allows to admire just the "free" dazzling jewels.
To use the unique technique, the case
of the REB-5 Tourbillon was subjected to redesigning to enable totally invisible mounting of the jewels. The jewels are characterized by the outstanding exactitude of the cut and setting with minimum tolerance levels used. In order to make all traces of the precious stones setting completely disappear from view, the specialists in this field worked under microscopes.
Creating the Rebellion REB-5 Tourbillon watch with jewels mounted in a completely invisible way represents a collaboration project between the watchmaking brand and the setting workshop Bunter SA
