JeanRichard and Rafale Boats - New Partnership

JeanRichard has joined efforts with Rafale Boats, united as producers captured by the spirit of new technologies, avant-gardism, supreme performance and discovery.

With history that dates back to the year 1681 and the brilliant watchmaker Daniel JeanRichard, the Swiss watch manufacture JeanRichard gives birth to original movements and complications and creates its timepieces using most high-tech materials and paying meticulous attention to each detail.

Located in Saint-Nazaire, famous as the centre of naval construction, Rafale creates high end semi-rigid boats that are absolutely exceptional. A Rafale boat reflects unique expertise handed down over whole generations of workers and engineers. Its creation is based on the most modern technologies in engines, fittings and coating.

The two prestigious brands have cooperated on developing an advanced system that allows to integrate a timepiece into the console of a boat. The development teams of both brands joined efforts to design an aluminum case to be inserted in the instrument panel of the Rafale R7.0 boat. The JeanRichard watch incorporates a removable cushion to easily clip on and unclip it. The watch owner can now not only enjoy wearing his timepiece on the wrist but also fit it to its holder when he finds himself in the cockpit of the boat. The watch holder has a transparent window that allows to clearly read the time.

For the project, JeanRichard and Rafale have chosen the Diverscope JR1000 watch. The timepiece features a 43mm case with a steel base that is fully covered in vulcanized rubber. It is 300-meter water-resistant. The diver's watch is animated by an in-house mechanical self-winding movement - the JR1000.

The remarkable system developed by JeanRichard and Rafale was unveiled at the Festival International de la Plaisance boat show that took place in Cannes, France, 8-13 September 2010. The first joined project of the brands is sure to initiate more original developments.
