The Swiss watch manufacture Vacheron Constantin is about to release its new horological masterpiece - the Quai de l’Ile Retrograde Annual Calendar watch.
Launched in 2008, the original Quai de I’Ile timepiece was enthusiastically received by the discerning audience. Then, the public could enjoy the Day-Date Self Winding and Day-Date with Power Reserve versions of this model. Now, the line is joined by a stunning timepiece equipped with a Retrograde Annual Calendar complication.
The aforementioned retrograde date indicator is found on an extremely legible dial, which can be dressed in different colors. The calendar, which requires correction once a year, is located on a segment, extending from 2 to 5 o’clock.
The display of the new Vacheron Constantin watch is visually balanced by a moon-phase indicator, which needs to be manually corrected just once per 122 years.
Positioned at 9 o’clock and artfully combined with a small seconds hand, this counter overlaps with a month sub-dial. The latter is slightly shifted away from its traditional 6 o’clock position, which lends the timepiece its exceptional character.
Pointing to the hours and minutes are appealing central hands, crafted from gold. They circulate over Arabic numerals, which alternate with stick-shaped hour-markers. Completing the impeccable appearance of the display is the brand’s logo, residing beneath the 12 o’clock hour-marker.
The dial of the new Quai de l’Ile Retrograde Annual Calendar watch is gently hugged by a cushion-shaped case, which measures 43 mm in diameter. It is sculptured either in white gold, rose gold or a marvelous combination of these two materials. The case is offset by an elegant bezel, rendered in white or rose gold. The winding crown, nestled at 3 o’clock, captures attention with its refinement. The company’s craftsmen have also equipped the timepiece with high-grade top and bottom sapphire crystals.
The absolute precision of the model is guaranteed by a manufactory-made self-winding caliber 2460 QRA movement. Composed of 326 individual parts, the mechanism operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 40-hour power reserve.
A consummate combination of technical performance and ultimate elegance of design, the new Vacheron Constantin watch is delivered on a black or brown alligator leather strap.
Alternatively, it can be mounted on a black or brown rubber strap, closed with a folding clasp in white or rose gold.
