Following the success of the Project Z5 watch, the world-famous watch company Harry Winston has recently introduced its extraordinary Project Z6 watch. The timepiece stands out due to its case rendered in zalium. This hypo-allergenic material that boasts great corrosion-resistance has been developed by Ronald Winston, an experienced chemical engineer. Zalium is employed exclusively in the production of the brand’s watches.A new complication in the collection, the Project Z6 watch is endowed with a 24-hour alarm on a unique manually-wound movement, engineered specially for this watch. The sophisticated movement is composed of 340 individual parts and studded with 45 jewels. Embellished with a Cotes-de-Geneve pattern, it incorporates hand-chamfered bridges. The novel Harry Winston watch provides a 72-hour power reserve, which is attainable thanks to two barrels.
For activating the striking-mechanism for the alarm, the watch incorporates a trigger, located at 4 o’clock. The alarm is adjusted by the crown, protected by an original W-shaped crown-guard. The hammer, fixed to the case, can be enjoyed through an opening on the dial, whereas the rectangular-shaped gong produces optimal resonance.
Housed in a 44 mm case is an off-center dial, performed either in anthracite or silver. Demonstrating 5 different kinds of finishing, the dial is completed with two overlapping disks, which serve to show the time and the alarm’s striking-mechanism. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal.
The Harry Winston Project Z6 watch is presented on a black rubber strap, finished with a zalium buckle. The Harry Winston watch is submersible to 100 meters. As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, it is to be issued in a limited series of 300 pieces.
