Bulova Precisionist Chronograph Watch – New Level of Accuracy

Bulova is proud to unveil its new innovative timepiece - the Precisionist Chronograph watch. The novel chronograph boasts 1/1,000th second precision over a 12-hour time period and is accurate to within 10 seconds per year. It debuted at Baselworld 2012.

The new Bulova watch was developed in cooperation with the brand’s parent company, the Citizen Watch Company. The timepiece incorporates a proprietary three-prong quartz crystal that substituted the traditional two-prong version. The innovative technology generates a quartz vibration frequency of 262.144 kHz – this is eight times greater if compared to the two-prong quartz crystal.

The Precisionist Chronograph has maintained the intricate, architectural case of the initial Bulova Precisionist Champlain Collection that has already enjoyed great success. The case is crafted from solid stainless steel and is 300-meter water-resistant.

It demonstrates a multi-layer dimensional dial, the signature feature of all Precisionist models. The dial displays four sub-dials – a dual-duty 1/10- and 1/100-second counter, hour and minute measures, and a unique 1/1,000-second track with retrograde indicator.

The continuously sweeping second hand measures seconds when the chronograph timing mode is switched on. You have to push the 8 o'clock button to switch to chronograph timing mode, and then push the 2 o'clock button to start up to 12 hours of chronograph measurement. At the necessary interval, you push the 2 o'clock button one more time to get separate, easy-to-read measurements of hours, minutes, seconds, 1/10-seconds, 1/100-seconds and 1/1,000-seconds.

The watch also provides tachymeter and calendar functions.

The Bulova Precisionist Chronograph watch is expected to be available worldwide starting with October 2012. Its retail price will range from 699 to 799 US dollars.
