The latest Polo FortyFive watch was officially announced in the course of the gala dinner, which was arranged on November 30th. The event was witnessed by press representatives and retailers in the capital city of Argentine.
In spite of the fact that frequent launching of limited editions is not in Piaget’s character, the brand’s CEO Phillip Leopold Metzger has proposed a 45-piece limited edition of the Polo FortyFive watch created specially for Marcos Heguy, the Argentine captain of the Piaget polo team Pilara that takes part in Argentina’s popular Triple Crown series.
The black dial of the limited edition Piaget Polo FortyFive watch is equipped with blue counters and features the inscription “10 Handicap”.
The transparent case-back enables the watch owner to admire the fascinating details of the movement and reveals the name “Marcos Heguy” along with Marcos’ signature. The chronograph titanium watch is scheduled to be released at USPA Piaget Gold Club in Florida, in 2010.
For his part, Marcos Heguy is very proud to have a timepiece, which bears his own name.
The festive dinner also saw the attendance of European polo players such as Dutch Martijn Van Scherpenzeez of Adrenalina Team and Belgian Philip de Groot of E7 Team. As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, both teams are expected to be supported by Piaget, since the brand continues emphasizing its association with this exceptional and noble sport.
Apart from Piaget, there are also other watchmaking houses that sponsor the equestrian sport. The list includes Hublot, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Cartier and Ralph Lauren. Piaget, however, is the only watchmaker, which has released a timepiece, entitled after this noble game.
