Piaget has unveiled its new gorgeous timekeeping creation - the Emperador Cushion Grande Luna. The zest of the watch is the poetic moon-phase complication. The timepiece features a timeless, yet modern look. The Piaget Emperador Cushion Grande Luna watch is housed in a 43mm-in-diameter cushion-shaped case, crafted in polished and brushed 18K white gold.
The refined slate grey dial is characterized by symmetrical design, revealing a satin-finished section in the center. The hours and minutes are indicated with traditional faceted Piaget hands.
The eye-paralyzing moon-phase display is crafted from heated white gold, providing an uneven rough look. Its texture is meant to remind the rocky surface of the Moon.
The moon-phase display also incorporates a black plate that performs a complete revolution each 29.5 days. With the dark plate moving instead of the moon disc itself, the moon-phase of the watch gives rise to great visual pleasure.
The face of the watch is reliably protected by a flat sapphire crystal.
The white gold case back is hand-engraved. The timepiece is equipped with the in-house Piaget 860P caliber. The 25-jewel automatic movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, and provides a 72-hour power reserve.
The movement demonstrates refined decorative elements, such as circular graining on the main-plate, Cotes Circulaires pattern embellishing the bridges, finely blued screws and edges with fine chamfering.
The Piaget Emperador Cushion Grande Luna watch, a smart mixture of shapes and textures, is presented on a hand-sewn alligator leather strap fitted with a white gold deployment clasp.
