Piaget Limelight Exceptional Pieces – Truly Exceptional

Sep 23, 2009
In 2009, the renowned watchmaking house and jewelry manufacturer Piaget has enlarged its magnificent Limelight Exceptional collection with remarkable “secret” timepieces, sculptured in 18K white gold.

Produced in the best traditions of the horological company, these watches demonstrate the highest degree of excellence in terms of gem-setting arts. Another hallmark of these timekeepers is their diamond-set dials submerged beneath the artistic carpet of pear baguette-cut, or round brilliant diamonds.

The Piaget Limelight Exceptional Pieces watch, Ref. G0A34133, comes with a flexible white gold bracelet, consisting of five white gold ribbons. Resembling the tightening coils of a splendid, jeweled serpent, these ribbons merge with the case in a way, which seems to be quite random. Decorated with 437 baquette cut diamonds, this model exposes its secret dial through pressing the center of the coverlid.

The graceful dial of the Piaget watch is manufactured from mother of pearl, applying the marquetry technique. It features white gold baton hands and two sweeping sections, set with round brilliant diamonds. The rest of 78 round brilliant diamonds enfold the dial.

The company’s specialists invested approximately 870 hours of painstaking effort to manufacture this masterwork of the jewelry and goldsmith art. They dedicated some 200 hours solely to mounting about 57 carats of baguette diamonds, which cover the artistically performed case and bracelet. The watch time display is powered by Piaget-made quartz 56P caliber movement, which ensures ultra-accurate time-keeping.

The Piaget Limelight Exceptional Pieces watch, Ref. G0A34135, is encouraged by the leafy vegetation of a splendid garden. This model, which demanded over 1,000 hours for its creation and 160 hours of dedicated diamond-mounting work, demonstrates fascinating tendrils, sculptured in 18-karat white gold and paved with a magnificent blend of pear cut, brilliant-cut, and baguette diamonds.

Two secret coverlids are marked with marquise-cut diamond "leaves". Each of them hides a time display: the first is crafted from mother of pearl and the second one is paved with diamonds. The model is animated by two precise in-house manufactured 56P quartz movements.

The Piaget Limelight Exceptional Pieces timekeepers are manufactured in Piaget's Geneva workshop. A series of sketches and painting gives birth to a special artistic concept of every watch. As soon as three-dimensional wax models are created, they can be analyzed for the design attractiveness.

Afterwards, the brand’s specialists determine the size and cuts of gems, necessary to complete the project. The gold wire is thoroughly shaped into settings for the precious stones, which are meticulously selected with respect to their unique color, clarity and matching characteristics.

Every Piaget Limelight Exceptional Pieces watch is a result of the brand’s team intensive efforts. There couldn’t be a better way for the company to express its commitment to Perfection in this challenging domain of watchmaking.
