On November, 5th, the Ladies First Chronograph from Patek Philippe happened to be a particular highlight of a festive event, arranged to celebrate the brand’s redesigned store located on Paris upscale Place Vendome. There was also another reason for the festivity to be held: Patek Philippe surprised watch enthusiasts with its first manual-winding chronograph, entirely executed in the brand’s workshops.

For the most part the novel caliber 29-535 follows the steps its famous predecessor caliber 27-70.

The calibers differentiate, however, in terms of their dimensions. The novel caliber boasts a diameter of 29 mm: that is 2 mm larger than that of the caliber 27-70. The caliber 29-535, composed of 269 individual elements, turns the top-quality chronograph into a perfect watch to be exposed on a woman’s wrist. The exceptional movement of this timepiece offers a respectable 65-hour power reserve in case the chronograph is running and this value is extended to 70 hours if the timer is not activated.

Over a decade ago, Patek Philippe launched its "Generations" ad campaign that has proved to be one of the most successful and well-known campaigns in the segment of luxury watchmaking.

The ad campaign is presented with help of black and white photos that reflect the notion that the Patek Philippe watches are inherited from one generation to another via the relationship between parents and their children.

Now, the highly respected Geneva watch manufacturer has unveiled a new set of advertisements featuring real fathers and sons. More of a formal portrait than the previously introduced ads, the latest Patek Philippe images show sons who are notably older than before.

Now, Patek Philippe watches are featured in brown blocks accompanied by the famous slogan "You never actually own a Patek Philippe watch, you merely look after it for the generation to follow".

The images for the new Patek Philippe and advertising campaign have been taken by renowned fashion photographer Craig McDean. The photographer is famous for his portraits of celebrities, with Nicole Kidman, Uma Thurman, Joaquin Phoenix, and Natalie Portman among many others. McDean has also taken images for a range of luxury brand ad campaigns, including such prestigious brands as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Georgio Armani.

This year, Craig McDean has been presented with an Infinity Award from the International Center of Photography (ICP). The award paid tribute to his achievements in the field of fashion and advertising photography.

Patek Philippe is proud to deliver its new Aquanaut Luce lady’s watch, which radiates an air of casual chic.

The fascinating novelty is offered in a pink gold case. Its measurements are 35.2 mm x 3.3 mm, diameter and thickness indicated respectively. The case is offset by a bezel, highlighted by the sparkle of 46 diamonds. The weight of these precious stones totals to 1 carat.

The new Patek Philippe watch is available with a 33.2 mm case, crafted from 18K pink gold. Both front and back sides of the model are fitted with sapphire crystals. The water-resistance of the case is ensured down to 30 meters.

The new Patek Philippe Ladies First Split Seconds Chronograph watch sports a bezel, illuminated by the play of 153 diamonds. The overall weight of jewels comes to 0.72 carats. The transparent back part is decorated with 76 diamonds totaling to 0.40 carats.

The Heure Universelle watch, reference 5130, from the prominent watchmaker Patek Philippe represents a perfect alliance of refined aesthetic and advanced technology.

The timekeeper is proposed with a 39.5 mm case, rendered in white or pink 750 (18K) gold. It demonstrates an elegant front side, fitted with a sapphire crystal, as well as a screw-down sapphire back.

Lot 79, pre-estimated at 40,000 - 60,000 US dollars, brought 242,500 US dollars at Christie’s auction, held on December 14 in New York. The unique Patek Philippe pocket watch dates back to 1913. Having been given a Geneva Observatory rating certificate in 1920, it came to its American retailer in 1921. Famous American collector Henry Graves acquired the pocket watch in 1925.

As stated by Christie’s sale notes, it is not exactly known how many timepieces were commissioned by Henry Graves from Patek Philippe. The American collector ordered about 30 timepieces in all. According to watch experts, there are 15 known timepieces that belonged to Mr. Graves. The pocket watch sold at Christie’s auction became the 16th. The timepiece demonstrates an engraving of the Graves family crest and motto that says, “Esse Quam Videri -To Be Rather Than to Seem”.

One more highlight of the auction, Lot 327, pre-estimated at 250,000 - 350,000 US dollars, Breguet ref. 3857, brought 434,500 US dollars.

Patek Philippe is delighted to deliver its new Triple Complication Ref. 5208P watch. The novelty is presented in a round-shaped 44mm case, crafted from 950 platinum. Both front and back sides of the new Patek Philippe watch are fitted with sapphire crystals.

The top glass covers a charcoal-colored solid-gold sunburst dial. It is equipped with Dauphine-shaped hour and minute hands, made of 18-carat white gold. The applied hour-markers are rendered in the same material.

The small seconds are shown in a counter, exhibited between 3 and 4 o’clock. It is counterweighted by a 12-hour counter between 8 and 9 o’clock. The moon-phase indicator resides at 6 o’clock. The originality of the dial lies in a triple instant calendar display, located in its upper part.

Patek Philippe has launched its new Stainless Steel Minute Repeater Reference 3939 unique watch, to be unveiled at Only Watch 2011. Aimed at supporting the medical research for the Duchenne Muscular Distrophy, this charity auction will take place on September 22nd, 2011, at 4 p.m. in Monaco.

The new Patek Philippe watch is available in a 33.3mm case, rendered in stainless steel. Its architecture incorporates an interchangeable full back and a sapphire crystal case-back. Integrated into the case is a slide piece, which activates a chime with two gongs.

Ticking inside the new Patek Philippe Stainless Steel Minute Repeater Reference 3939 watch is a mechanical manually-wound caliber R TO 27 PS movement, certified by COSC. It incorporates a minute-repeater mechanism with a tourbillon escapement.

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce watch line destined for elegant ladies has been joined by a new haute joaillerie variation. The 18K white gold case of the watch is set with 387 round brilliant diamonds. The folding clasp is set with 86 diamonds; the crown is embellished with a single round brilliant diamond, mounted culet up.

The "Honey Beige" Aquanaut Luce joins the "Pure White", and "Mysterious Black" variants created before; the names have been suggested by the colors of the tropical rubber straps and embossed grid-pattern dials. The story of Patek Philippe watches, providing a 10-day power reserve, started in 2000, with the introduction of the 10-day Ref. 5100. The timepiece initiated the trend for watches, offering 4-, 6-, 8-day power reserve.
