Meet Glashutte Original PanoMaticChrono Watch

Jun 17, 2010
The renowned Saxon watch manufacture Glashutte Original is understandably proud to present its new interpretation of the PanoMaticChrono watch, encouraged by the wide open sea.

Combining sophisticated technology, contemporary design and impeccable functionality, the new Glashutte Original watch propels the brand into the selective universe of state-of-the-art watchmaking.
The new PanoMaticChrono watch catches and holds the gaze with its deep blue dial, embellished with a lovely carbon fiber pattern.

A particular highlight of the top half of the dial is definitely a raised scale ring of the chronograph seconds hand, covered with a luminous coating to optimize night reading. This scale overlaps two conventional chronograph counters, indicating subsidiary seconds. They are joined by the 30-minute sub-dial, located underneath the raised ring. It features the white gold hours and minutes hands, also inlaid with luminous substance. The same compound is applied to all time displays and scales with the exception of the numerals, presented at 3, 5, 7 and 9 oclock positions.

The zero point of these supplementary functions has been turned 60 degrees toward the chronograph seconds ring. The position mentioned ensures optimal legibility of all parameters. Adding the final note of harmony to this charismatic design is the brands signature date aperture, nestled at 3 oclock.

The new creation from Glashutte Original has adopted a 44 mm case, rendered in completely satin-finished platinum. It incorporates Caliber 95, executed intentionally for the PanoMaticChrono watch.

The movement is equipped with a patented step gear, which adapts itself to the kinetic behavior of the watch wearer. It is attainable due to a targeted transferring of winding energy from the bilaterally winding rotor to the sequentially operating spring barrels.

Besides, this mechanism is outfitted with a small, quickly winding transmission wheel, which serves to connect the rotor and the spring barrel, coupled with a large, slowly winding one. Due to this innovative construction, the automatic gear ensures a quick transmission of the necessary amount of energy to the spring barrel.

Produced in a limited series of just 100 pieces around the globe, the Glashutte Original PanoMaticChrono watch will surely appeal to the public looking for a strong and elegant timepiece.
