The P'6612 Dashboard Le Mans 1970 Limited Edition watch demonstrates the clean lines as those of the Porsche 917. It is presented on a strap that will make you think of the 917’s steering wheel. The black calf leather strap has dual perforations inspired by the 917’s steering wheel spokes, and red stitching. It is fitted with a titanium pin buckle.
As for the dial of the new Porsche design watch, it inherited its design from the 917’s dashboard. The black background has black hour and minute hands provided with luminous inserts for perfect legibility under any light conditions. The slim seconds stop hand is created in red with a white tip. The 12-hour and 30-minute counters, at 9 and 6 o’clock respectively, are featured in red. As for the small seconds hand, it is presented in a white sub-dial at 3 o’clock featuring the start number 23.
The heart of the chronograph watch is a self-winding movement - ETA 2894-A2. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it offers an advantage of a 42-hour power-reserve.
The 42mm case is sculptured from brushed and polished titanium. The case back features the limited edition number and inscriptions "Winner Le Mans 1970", along with "917-023", hinting at the chassis number of the winning car. The push-pieces and screw-down crown are decorated with a “Clous-de-Paris” motif.
The Porsche Design P'6612 Dashboard Le Mans 1970 Limited Edition watch will be delivered in a limited number of 917 pieces starting with September. It is accompanied by a miniature model of the Porsche 917 K and a publication personally signed by Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood.
