Oris Sponsors Formula One Presentation in Moscow

It is not a secret that the Oris Company boasts a long association with the world of motor sports. The Swiss watchmaker was proud to act as one of the main sponsors of the very first demonstration of Formula One hosted in the City of Moscow. The notable event took place on Sunday, 13 July.

The big event named 'Moscow City Racing,' attracted thousands of Muscovites who lined the streets. Red Bull Racing and AT&T Williams highlighted the event with a variety of motor sports demonstrations.

The spectators were especially excited to see Oris ambassador Nico Rosberg in the AT&T Williams FW29 from the 2007 F1 season.

Nico started his lap next to Red Square, run past the Kremlin, around the Kremlyovskaya and Moskvoretskaya embankments of the Moscow River and finished the lap at the Bolshoi Theatre Square.

Nico Rosberg appreciated 'Moscow City Racing' as one of the most amazing events he has ever taken part in. The racer was really enthusiastic about driving around the Kremlin and through Red Square and pleased by the attention received from the Russian spectators. "People really are fascinated by Formula One here. I'm convinced this was a really big boost for the sport, and for our team in particular, in Russia," the racer said.

Prior to the demonstration, the Oris Company presented its prominent ambassador with its TT3 Formula Gold Limited Edition watch.

The timepiece crafted in rose gold has been created to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of Williams F1. It will be available in a limited edition of just 300 pieces.

According to Roland Ackermann, Region Manager for Oris in Russia, the first F1 demonstration in Russia became a landmark for Formula One and Oris. The brand chose the TT3 Formula Gold watch for Nico Rosberg as the timepiece makes one feel the spirit of Formula One.

Moscow City Racing became the latest on the list of off-track running car events joined by AT&T Williams since Monaco on the Maas. Since 2005, the team has brought the spirit of Formula One to audiences in Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Guangzhou in China.
