Vito, famous as a Swiss aerobatic display champion, has recently become the brand’s aviation partner. Vito also works as a test pilot and leading technician to Hannes Arch, Red Bull Air Race world champion.
By a flight plan, Vito gets to the airfields where he performs his stunts. The pilot needs an easily-readable watch to read the time, and the minutes in particular, just at a glance.
The Oris Meisterflieger watch boasts the clearest minute display among all pilot’s watches of the brand. The timepiece is equipped with the Regulateur movement and demonstrates a distinctive minute hand, featuring minutes, rather than hours on the dial.
The hour display is found at 3 o’clock, the small second at 9, and the date at 3.
The watch is also special for its eye-catching vertical crown at 2 o’clock to enable a pilot set the minute scale on the inner dial ring as a timer.
The two-piece black dial is completed with applied nickel indices and printed Superluminova-coated numerals. The polished nickel hands are provided with luminous inlay.
The case of the Oris watch, 42.70mm in diameter, is crafted from stainless steel.
It is secured with seven screws. The dial is shielded by a sapphire glass domed on both sides and provided with inner anti-reflective coating. The case incorporates a transparent glass case-back.
The timepiece is coupled with a black Gaucho leather strap featuring distinctive stitching and fitted with a special folding clasp. It may also go with a metal bracelet. The watch, reviewed by Watches.InfoNIAC.com, is 100-meter water-resistant.
The Oris BC4 Der Meisterflieger watch is available in a pilot’s headset bag, along with a pilot’s knee board, a tool necessary for every pilot for having things organized and taking notes in the course of the flight. The set also contains an aerial map of north-west Switzerland and flight-plan.
