The event raised over 175,000 US dollars to support the programs to advance gender equality and empowerment of women in China. The proceeds provided by the fundraiser will support UNIFEM’s work in China, focused on putting an end to violence against women. The funds will be also used for shelter and legal protection for survivors of violence, as well as for supporting the programs devoted to training and education and women’s participation in political life at the local level.
