Omega Unveils Constellation Ladies Quartz 35 mm Watches at Baselworld 2010
The iconic Omega Constellation line was born back in 1982 when the brand created the first Constellation watch that stood out due to its distinctive “Griffes” or claws, the original peculiarity that made the watches from the line instantly identifiable.
In 2009, Omega presented the redesigned Constellation family and this year it welcomes two new members.

The first new model represents the Constellation Ladies Quartz 35 mm watch created in white. The polished 18-carat red gold case is coupled with a white alligator leather strap. The attractive classic timepiece will nicely match the style of any modern lady.

A lady’s glance will be caught by eleven single-cut diamond hour-markers that are graduated, growing in size starting from the round facetted date window found at 6 o’clock. Omega Introduces Milestone 1941 Watch to Join Museum Collection
The Omega Museum Collection welcomes the ninth member - the “Milestone 1941” Collector’s Piece. The brand has created the collection that would reflect its historic values and correspond to its state-of-the-art watchmaking standards. Omega annually chooses one classic watch that was introduced more fifty years ago and recreates it with an excellent design and innovative features.

The new “Milestone 1941” watch has been inspired by the brand’s reference “CK 2080”, a timepiece in stainless steel that joined the world of watchmaking in 1938. It enjoyed great success among high-ranking military officers. The specific watch that served as the base for the ninth timepiece of the collection was introduced in 1941 and sold at the Omegamania Auction held in 2007.

Omega Unveils Ploprof 1/1 Watch for 2009 Only Watch Auction
Celebrated Swiss timepiece brands’ preparations for introducing their exclusive models at the Only Watch auction to be held in Monaco are in full swing.

The auction is aimed at obtaining funds for Monegasque Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, an international organization, developing projects on debilitating genetic disorder that negatively influences male children.

Omega will be proud to unveil an especially elegant and spectacular rose gold interpretation of its renowned Ploprof - a dive watch, launched for the first time in 1970s. Jacques Cousteau’s favorite model, the Ploprof is distinguished by its oversized monocoque case and extremely secure rotating bezel, which functioning is governed by a security push button.

The Omega Seamaster Ploprof intended for Only Watch is completely rendered in 18-karat white gold. Similar to its counterpart manufactured from steel, it demonstrates brushed texture finished surfaces. A white rubber strap, embellished with vertical grooves and the Omega signature, match perfectly the white sapphire-overlaid graduated bezel and the exceptional dial, bearing a "1/1 Only Watch" commemorative mark.

The hands and hour indices of the exclusive timekeeping companion are also made of rose gold and demonstrate Superluminova coating, which ensures effortless legibility in any light conditions.

The Omega Seamaster Ploprof 1/1 intended for Only Watch accommodates the in-house manufactured Omega 8501 caliber.

This movement incorporates the acclaimed Co-Axial escapement and reveals a freely sprung balance wheel with the unconventional beat frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour. It also features a power reserve of 60 hours.

To specify its manufacture status, Omega has provided the 8500 caliber with a special Cotes de Geneve en Arabesques decorative pattern and received its precision performance certificate from the Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres (COSC). As a result of 15-day tests in different positions and temperatures, each caliber has been assigned the official title of "Chronometer".

The Omega 1/1 Seamaster Ploprof timepiece performed in rose gold will be put up for auction without a reserve on September 24, 2009 under the auspices of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

New Members of Omega Constellation Family
In 2009, Omega has enlarged its iconic Constellation collection with a range of new models to satisfy any taste. The newly-designed timepieces are inspired by the famous Constellation Manhattan watch unveiled in 1982. The new highly refined timepieces reveal new dials.

The new Omega Constellation watches are available in five sizes, with cases measuring 24mm and 27mm in diameter, 31mm and 35mm, and 38mm models. Omega Unique No. 8 Collection to Mark 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
As a great way to celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the Omega Company is to unveil a unique set of watches, destined to become a great discovery for avid watch collectors.

Omega Official Timekeeper of Olympic Games for the 23rd time
Over 10,500 world class sportsmen representing 205 nations will be competing for medals, glory and honour in 28 sports from August 8 to 24 in Beijing.

Omega will be present throughout the Olympic Games, acting as Official Timekeeper for the 23rd time, responsible for recording, displaying and distributing the results.

Omega Takes George Clooney's Photos in Laglio
Villa Oleandra is the name of George Clooney's home in the village of Laglio located on the shore of Lake Como in northern Italy. The Oscar-winning actor also owns an old factory connected to the villa. There the actor has a private office and creates his professional projects.

The Omega team was invited to Laglio to take photos of the famous star, intending to take some of the photos in the factory. The old factory, a working space of the actor, is comfortably furnished. The place is also provided with a pinball machine and a collection of old railway clocks, each featuring time in a different time zone.

The story of George Clooney's relationship to Omega watches goes back to his childhood. As a child, the imagination of the actor and his friends was captured by the space race. The Omega Company had been closely associated with America's space program. George Clooney recalls that he and his friends had drawn Omega logos on their own watches. In 1969, the year of the first lunar landing, George's uncle sent him his first Omega watch. Now George Clooney is the brand's Ambassador, wearing Omega watches.

Omega Constellation Watch - Sprinkled with Diamonds
The house of Omega proudly presents its new Constellation watch, which combines technical performance and ultimate elegance of design.

The new Omega watch employs a 27mm case, rendered in 18ct red gold and stainless steel. It is outlined by an 18ct gold bezel, illuminated by the play of 132 full-cut snow set diamonds.

The new Omega Constellation watch comes equipped with a blue PVD dial. It is embellished with a supernova motif, which emanates from the Constellation star at 6 o'clock. The dial is completed with twelve single-cut diamonds, serving as hour-markers. The overall weight of the stones comes to 0.12 carats.

Taking care of hours and minutes are polished 18ct gold hands, inlaid with white Superluminova. The latter ensures a perfect level of visibility when light becomes darkness. Animating the functions is the brand’s proprietary quartz caliber 1376 movement. Its battery life constitutes 32 months.

Omega Unveils Speedmaster Moonwatch "Apollo 15" 40th Anniversary Watch
Omega marks the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 15 by the introduction of the new limited edition timepiece – the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch "Apollo 15" 40th Anniversary Limited Edition watch. The timepiece will be available in a limited series of 1,971 pieces.

The polished and brushed stainless steel case incorporates a bezel with a black aluminum ring featuring a tachymeter scale. The black face of the watch is shielded by a domed shatterproof hesalite crystal with an etched Omega symbol. The minute track is accentuated by blue, white and red colors that also surround the sub-dials. The colors match those of the Apollo 15 patch.

The Omega watch is animated the brand’s famous caliber 1861, the manual-winding chronograph movement, the heart of the legendary Speedmaster Professional.

Omega Welcomes Visitors to Renovated Museum in Biel
On May 3rd, after several months of sweeping renovation, the Omega Museum in Biel opened its doors to the visitors. Created in January of 1984, this oldest museum is located just opposite Omega’s headquarters in Biel.

Devoted to a single watch brand, the museum exhibits numerous showpieces, which eloquently reflect the brand’s entire history. The 160-year old bench, which belonged to the esteemed master Louis Brandt, is among the exhibits.

According to Omega’s president, Stephen Urquhart, the period of renovation was similar to an archaeological dig. He also added that the project of the building restoration prompted the brand’s management to review its entire collection.  read more
