Cimier Presents Nuit et Jour Watch

Dec 25, 2009
While the Earth accomplishes a full rotation on its axis in 24 hours, the conventional timepiece dial is equipped with an hour hand that makes a complete revolution only in 12 hours. However, it is not the case with the innovative “Nuit et Jour” (Night and Day) watch, manufactured by the Cimier brand.

The dial of the new Cimier watch is completed with the hands, which point to each of 24 hours in a day. Besides, the dial reveals a sun, standing for noon, as well as a moon, symbolizing midnight. It is an additional module that animates the time display.

The “Nuit et Jour” watch accommodates a manually-wound movement - ETA/Unitas 6497-1 calibre, paved with 17 rubies. Equipped with the Incabloc shock-absorbing system, it also comprises a circular-grained main plate. This movement is graced with Cotes de Geneve finish. It features a balance wheel, moving back and forth at 18,000 vibrations per hour. The functionality of this model includes hours, minutes and seconds. The see-through case-back, meanwhile, shows off the fascinating details of the Swiss-made movement, housed in this horological masterpiece.

All the technical treasures of the amazing “Nuit et Jour” watch are incorporated into a polished and satin-brushed steel case, measuring 43 mm in diameter. The case is assembled with a cambered sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating. It also reveals a screw-lock sapphire crystal case-back. The watch case is fitted with a crown, located at 4 o’clock.

The dial of the watch is featured in two interpretations: silver-colored or black, embellished with sunburst pattern.

The Cimier “Nuit et Jour” watch is mounted on a hand-sewn Louisiana crocodile leather strap, which is equipped with a folding clasp. The water-resistance of the model is down to 5 ATM.
