Tissot Creates New PRS 516 Watches

Mar 04, 2010
The Tissot PRS 516 watch holds a really legendary status in the world of watchmaking. The timepiece initially appeared in the 1960-s. The history of the watch is highlighted by winning a prestigious award for an advertising campaign that presented the timekeeper on a rally drivers gloved wrist.

Today, celebrating its passion for the sport of motor racing, Tissot has created new versions of the PRS 516, featuring retro-modern design with slight touches of nostalgia. Moreover, the timepieces boast the most cutting-edge watchmaking innovations. The new Tissot PRS 516 watches are expected to be officially unveiled at Baselworld 2010.

The Tissot PRS 516 Chrono is equipped with an automatic chronograph movement -ETA Valjoux 7750. The movement animates the following range of useful functions: hours, minutes, seconds, day, date, chronograph and tachometer.

The case of the Tissot watch is rendered in 316L stainless steel and measures 45 mm. The case incorporates a fixed bezel with a tachometer scale. The face of the watch is shielded by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The transparent case-back allows to drop a glance at the inner life of the timepiece. The case construction guarantees 100-meter water-resistance.

The silvered or black dial is completed with chronograph hour, minute and seconds counters found at 6, 12 and 9 oclock respectively. You will notice the day and date windows positioned at 3 oclock.

Besides the chronograph version, the new range includes an automatic three-hand version, as well as a quartz version with a 42 mm case.

The new Tissot PRS 516 watches are presented on a bold leather strap or a masculine 316L stainless steel bracelet with holes.
