New Porsche Design Flat Six Watches

Apr 22, 2009
Porsche Design watches define timeless appeal, functionality and purism. The brand’s Flat Six watch collection has been joined by new models - the Three-Hands and Chronograph models.

It should be mentioned by that the Flat Six line has been named after the famous 6-cylinder Boxer engines that have greatly contributed to the worldwide reputation of the Porsche Design brand.

The new Flat Six watches, unveiled at Baselworld 2009, demonstrate fresh color combinations and cases provided with PVD coating.

The design of the Porsche Design watches perfectly reflects their functionality. The new timepieces are characterized by clarity and distinctiveness. Their legible dials feature baton-shaped hands, large digits and clear indices.

The Chronograph model shows the date and the day of the week in a double window at 3 o’clock. The 30-minute counter is found in the upper part of the dial, while the 12- hour counter is positioned in the lower part. At 9 o’clock, you will notice an original triangular seconds indicator. The Three-Hands model features the date window at 4 o’clock.

The powerfully-designed case of the Flat Six watches, crafted in stainless steel, features four grooves machined into its flanks reminding of the compression and wiper rings of the 6-cylinder engine. The case also showcases integrated ergonomic chronographic push-pieces.

The Porsche Design Flat Six P’6310 is equipped by a caliber ETA 2892-A2 self-winding movement, offering the date display and 42 hours of power reserve, while the Flat Six P’6340 Chronograph accommodates a Valjoux 7750 movement offering precision guaranteed by the COSC –chronometer certification and 46 hours of power reserve, in addition to the date and dayweek display. The sapphire crystal back allows to see the energy-optimized self-winding rotor.

The new Porsche Design Flat Six watches are presented on a caoutchouc strap featuring the tire-tread profile on the inside part for extra ventilation.
